The Town movie (2010)

The Town movie based enormity of things that can take place when the most unexpected things happens in life is one of the major themes in the upcoming movie. directed by the multitalented Hollywood personality Ben Affleck who directs the movie and at the same time gets the credits for the hero of the movie by playing the lead role. The project which is also known as Prince of Thieves manages to capture the essence of the award winning novel by the popular author Chuck Hogan on which the movie is based on.

The Town has Doug MacRay a master thief along with his gang who are responsible for most of the robberies carried out in Boston. Doug is devoid of having any relationship and thus making him to go ahead with anything without repentances. However things take an unexpected turn in his life when he meets a soul mate in Claire Keesey the woman who had also been a victim in his latest heist. As Doug and Claire continue their romance danger starts to lurk in the shape of an FBI agent who will stop for nothing till he captures Doug and his gang.

It is assumable why the play captured the attention of the director Ben Affleck because it had the elements of drama, romance, crime and thriller all in one package which is a rarity to find in any plays. And despite that fact the play has the potential to be developed in to a theatrical movie with out interfering to the original plot. Thus the movie has the same synopsis as the play but with alterations made to make it more relatable to the present society thus to the modern audience. Therefore the movie retains the original gripping storyline while making it more appealing to the viewers as well.

Ben Affleck is Doug MacRay who has his life turned upside down with the accidental encounter with a woman. When it comes to traits in his profile it is a noticeable matter that that despite few glitches he has managed to come this far with some memorable character portrayals that have made it to the hearts of his fans. This one also has that quality to make it to the list because the role of Doug has many faces depicted in a variety of ways. Thus it is not too different from doing multiple numbers of characters by an individual actor.

The leading lady of The Town is the Golden Globe nominee Rebecca Hall who plays the role of Claire Keesey who unknowingly falls in love with a man who terrorized her in a previous occasion. This role might be a break through role for this beautiful actress who had so far failed to make an influential impression of her self. Another prominent role in the movie is played by Jon Hamm as the FBI agent. After a number of appearances in television series and few projects this must have been a different experience for him opening a new path for his career.

The Town will be released on 10th of September and the audience will get to see how this director turned actor is going to fulfill the both roles while giving the audience the taste of thriller, crime and romance in this engaging drama.
