It’s Kind of a Funny Story movie (2010)

It’s Kind of a Funny Story movie collision between the adult world and the teenage world where the similarities end and the differences begin is one of the main themes in the movie It’s Kind of a Funny Story a dramatic theatrical adaptation based on a novel. Directed by the well recognized filmmakers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck the movie has a refreshingly original kind of a plot in it enabling the onlooker to have a great feeling of watching a touching and engaging drama. In It’s Kind of a Funny Story Craig is a teenager who is going through a crisis period in his life. Unable to cope up with stress and depression he checks himself into a mental health clinic and at the end he ends up in the adult ward because the youth ward is closed foe renovations. There he meets Bobby an adult patient with whom he develops a bond. With maximum five days inside the clinic as a patient Craig realizes the true meaning of many things like friendship and love during his stay which also includes some misadventures and mishaps to make the experience more interesting and a bit disastrous as well.

The lead role of Craig is played by the young actor Keir Gilchrist who steals the show with his promising talents expressed through the portrayal of a depressed teenager. His character has that in depth nature embedded in it making the role a hard one but despite the challenging quality in it he brilliantly pull it out with flying colors. Emma Roberts also star alongside him as Craig’s romantic interest and her role is of a teenage girl who is a mixture of different kind of character traits making her personality to be an intriguing and hard to decipher one.

One of the best and the memorable things in the movie is however the performance by the master comedian Zach Galifianakis as Bobby, the mentor of Craig. When it comes to making people laugh with out doubt he is one of the best in the field but in It’s Kind of a Funny Story with the usual dosage of funny frolics he also brings out some serious pieces of acting that are capable of bringing tears to the eyes of the onlooker for the heart rendering nature in it. This will obviously be one of the best performances by the veteran actor and this is something that is bound to bring accolades to him.

It’s Kind of a Funny Story will be released on 24th of September with it the moviegoers are introduced to a different kind of a genre of movies that capture comedy and drama in equal amounts to bring the happiness and sadness at the same time. Rich with number of sequences that are capable of making the onlooker get into uncontrollable fits of laughter the movie also has plenty of heart warming emotional moments as well making this movie to be the perfect treat for the entertainment seekers.
