Tales from Earthsea is the story set in a kingdom where unusual things have begun to tale place scaring the wits out of the inhabitants. The most unusual thing is that people have begun to see dragons which are not natural. Therefore Ged a wayfaring wizard takes up a mission to find out the reason for these happenings. Then he comes across Arren a teenage prince who has immense powers though he appears to be ordinary. When the sorcerer Cob gets to know about his abilities she becomes interested in getting hold of him which becomes a threat to Ged and most dangerously to the entire kingdom.

Directed by the Japanese filmmaker Goro Miyazaki the movie is originally a Japanese movie which will be dubbed in English to the enjoyment of Hollywood moviegoers. The vocal talents behind the character of the wizard Ged is of the early James Bond star Timothy Dalton who despite being away from the scene for a time returns with a good movie. This well experienced actor is sure to have contributed his best to the movie. He is usually known for his characters which are brooding but his movie gives a different kind of an impression about him a master wizard.

The voice of Matt Levin gives life to the role of Prince Arren the troubled yet powerful teenager. His name is usually associated with television and therefore this will be nice surprise for the audience. The talented actor Willem Dafoe is the voice behind the evil and ruthless Cob. The actor is well known for eccentric and villain type characters and this proves to be another list to his bad guy list. Mariska Hargitay is also among the cast who will be playing a positive kind of a role in the movie and in her case also this will be one of the few occasions that she is coming up for a  wide screen movie other than a television series.

Tales from Earthsea is rich with scenic views that have been made possible by the art and cinematography department of the movie. This can be mentioned as a foreign art piece as well and the magical and enchanting element of the movie is something that is appealing in the movie. The actor was initially involved in the grand project but it seems that it had been in the waiting list for too long to get into the development process. Liam Neeson will no longer be attached to Lincoln due to mismatches in the characters profile and the actor’s profile as it has been announced.?

It is unsure whether the movie will ever make it to the wide screen with Steven Spielberg being busy with his upcoming World War I drama War Horse in the development process and if the information is right Liam Neeson still get to act as the U.S. president especially with the role of Lyndon B. Johnson in the upcoming Lee Daniels project Selma.
